How is Dhanteras Celebrated

Dhanteras is a significant festival in Hindu culture and mythological beliefs sat that on the day of Dhanteras or Dhantrayodashi, Goddess Lakshmi came out from the ocean of milk during the Samudra Manthan or the churning of the Sea.

It is believed that on this auspicious day, Lord Vishnu's concealed energy flows through Goddess Lakshmi's Surya Nadi or the right channel of the Kundalini and that's how this channel gets activated. That’s why the rays generated by the Sun on this day are full of the "Tej-Tatva" or the fire element which spreads all over the universe gleaming with shiny golden particles. Goddess Lakshmi's chaitanya is believed to be present in these golden particles that fills up people with prosperity and opulence. Goddess Lakshmi is worshipped following some rituals with spiritual emotion and the Lord of wealth, Kuber enters our life on Earth and Lord Ganesha takes care of clearing all the obstacles coming in the way. The creator of wealth - Goddess Lakshmi, the distributor of wealth - Kuber, and the remover of challenges - Lord Ganesha are worshipped with devotion which makes people prosperous.

Dhanteras is also known as Dhantrayodashi and it takes place two days before the Diwali, the festival of lights. Basically in North India, Maharashtra, and Gujarat, we see the prominence of this first day called Dhanteras.
